Hamara is a two-year-old in the early stages of a racing career, having made a single appearance so far. The horse finished third in that debut race just over a day ago, which suggests the trainer is likely to give it another outing soon while the experience is fresh.
D K Weld, who trains from Curragh in County Kildare, has already sent out 21 winners this season, so Hamara is part of a yard in good form. For a horse just starting out, a top-3 finish on debut is not unusual — plenty of young racehorses need time to learn what racing is about before they find their rhythm. What happens next will be far more revealing about where this horse is headed.
