Haldon Pier
Haldon Pier made an impression that will be hard to forget. The two-year-old arrived at Sandown Park just over a week ago and won first time out—a perfect start that sent it straight to the top of
Ralph Beckett's watch list. Beckett, who trains from Kimpton in Hampshire, has built one of the season's strongest yards, with 107 winners already to his name, so a debut victory under his care carries real weight. This is a trainer who knows how to ready a young horse for its first race, and Haldon Pier delivered.

Our model's view, based on this horse's career and recent runs
With only one race under its belt, there is not much history to judge yet, but that one race says everything that matters: the horse can win. Whether it will develop into something special, only time will tell. Beckett's yard will have another chance to prove what Haldon Pier is made of soon enough.
