Guy's Girl

The horse runs best over middle distances, particularly between one mile and a furlong and one mile and two furlongs, where she has won once from eight attempts. That is not a glittering record by any measure, but it points to a distance where she has shown enough to believe she belongs. W. McCreery's yard at Rathbride has had a decent season, sending out 19 winners, and Guy's Girl is still a work in progress for a trainer with the infrastructure to improve her. Her recent form is patchy — fourth, first, sixth, and eleventh in her last four completed races — which is the sort of inconsistency you see in horses still learning their trade. But the fact that she was placed just days ago and is clearly still racing suggests her the yard have not given up on her yet. For a four-year-old with limited wins under her belt, that continued support matters.
