The most striking thing about Grey Horizon's record is what happens when it heads to Southwell. Two wins from just four visits to that track is remarkable — half of its races there have ended in victory, which is the kind of ratio most horses never sniff in a career. Southwell has a famously unique artificial surface that suits a particular type of horse, and Grey Horizon clearly loves it. Its most recent win came there on 11 February 2026, just seven weeks ago, so that affinity is fresh and very much intact.

The partnership with jockey Kieran O'Neill is worth watching closely. In seven races together, O'Neill has ridden Grey Horizon to 4 wins — that's a win rate of 57%, or just under 3 in every 5 races as a pair. That is an extraordinary number. When two racing careers click like that, it tends to be more than coincidence; there's a rhythm between horse and rider that produces results, and this combination has clearly found it.

Grey Horizon is trained by Scott Dixon, whose yard in Rolleston, Nottinghamshire, has sent out 33 winners this season — a figure that tells you this is a stable operating in serious form right now. Dixon has placed Grey Horizon consistently at Class 6 level, the entry-level tier of British racing, where the horse has won 3 from 8 races, a 38% win rate that is genuinely strong at any level. With a first career win at Catterick Bridge back in October 2025 and five victories since, the horse has made steady, tangible progress.

Grey Horizon raced just one day ago, so it is very much in the thick of an active campaign. The recent form of 6-5-blank-6-1-3 shows a winner in there, flanked by some average days — but that's normal for a young horse still developing. With a course record at Southwell that borders on freakish and a jockey partnership producing results at an elite rate, Grey Horizon is a horse that absolutely merits attention next time it heads back to that track.
