Green Carrera

The recent form makes for excellent reading. Over the last six races, Green Carrera has won three times and finished second twice, with only one below-par effort — a fourth-place finish — interrupting what is otherwise a near-flawless run. That sequence (1-4-2-1-1-2, reading from oldest to most recent) suggests a horse that has found its rhythm and is now operating with real confidence.

The most recent win came at Ascot on 19 June 2026 — just four weeks ago. Ascot is one of the most famous racecourses in the world, the home of Royal Ascot and a track that tends to reward quality over quantity. Winning there means something. It is not a track where ordinary horses find their way to the winner's enclosure. The fact that Green Carrera did it so recently, and raced again just yesterday, suggests a horse in peak condition and one that its team is happy to keep busy.

The trainer behind all of this is Joseph Patrick O'Brien, based at Owning Hill in County Kilkenny. O'Brien is one of the most formidable figures in the sport, and the numbers back that up — his yard has sent out 160 winners already this season alone. That is not a lucky streak; that is an operation built on serious horsemanship. When a trainer of that calibre keeps running a horse as frequently as Green Carrera has been running, it is because they believe the horse is thriving and ready to keep competing.

Green Carrera began its career with a win at Thurles back in October 2025 and has barely looked back since. Still only three years old with seven races under its belt, there is every reason to think this horse has not yet shown its ceiling. Whatever comes next, it arrives as one of the more compelling young horses in training right now.
