Greek Street

Trained by Harry Eustace out of Newmarket, the sport's most famous training town, Greek Street is part of a yard that has sent out 23 winners already this season. That tells you the operation knows what it's doing, and a fifth-place finish on debut is by no means a disaster. Most young horses are learning on the job in their first race — taking in the noise, the crowds, the starting stalls — and plenty go on to improve significantly once that experience is banked.

There's nothing here yet to judge Greek Street on beyond potential, but with a productive yard behind it and its whole career ahead, the next run will tell us a good deal more.
