Grayrobin

The recent form tells a story of inconsistency, though—second last time out, then eighth before that—but in racing, particularly at two years old, that's less alarming than it sounds. Young horses often struggle to put in back-to-back performances; they tire, they get distracted, they learn on the job. What matters is that Grayrobin has already shown it knows how to win, with victories at Bellewstown in early July and Cork three weeks ago. The fact that it raced just a day ago suggests the yard is keeping the momentum going and testing the horse regularly. Trainer Miss Kate McGivern clearly sees something worth developing here. The yard may have sent out just one winner this season so far, but Grayrobin could become a meaningful part of that tally if it continues on this trajectory. At two years old, with a 50% win rate and back-to-back victories under its belt, this is a horse worth watching.
