Grace Faraday

Her last six runs read: a loss, then sixth, fifth, fourth, a win, and a second. Read that backwards and you see a horse that has been steadily climbing — from the back of the field to the podium, then right to the top. That win came at Galway in October 2025, and the runner-up finish before it shows it was no fluke. She has been racing within the last couple of days, so whatever momentum she has built is very much live.

Her most regular jockey, James O'Sullivan, has ridden her nine times and got her to the winner's enclosure once — roughly 1 in every 9 rides together. That is modest on paper, but given Grace Faraday's overall record, O'Sullivan has clearly been around for much of her journey and knows this horse well. That kind of familiarity matters, particularly with a horse who has taken time to find her best form.

She is trained by Anthony McCann at his yard in Castleblaney, County Monaghan, and the operation is in decent health — seven winners already on the board this season. McCann has had Grace Faraday long enough to understand what she needs, and the steady improvement in her recent runs suggests the stable has found something that works. Her first career win came at Limerick back in May 2024, so she has been around the block, but the Galway victory last October shows that at eight years old, she is still very much a horse capable of winning races. Some horses take longer to arrive. Grace Faraday might just be one of them.
