The really interesting part is his recent form. After a run of ordinary results through the spring, Gooloogong bounced back to win at Goodwood just this week, on 29 August. Before that, he won at the same track in August 2026—he clearly enjoys Goodwood—and he has won 2 of his last 6 races overall. For a horse in his mid-career, that is the kind of upward curve that suggests the yard has found what works for him. George Baker, who trains him from Epsom Downs, has sent out 14 winners this season, and Gooloogong appears to be one of the more dependable earners in the stable.
It is worth remembering that Gooloogong began his career well, winning his first ever race at Navan in March 2023. The stable saw enough in him to consider bigger targets, but he has carved out his value in smaller races and on courses that suit him. At this stage of his career, he is exactly what he appears to be: a consistent, course-form horse who wins often enough to keep racing and makes his trainer's life easier. With his recent win still fresh, expect to see him back out soon.
