Goldfinder

The recent form tells a familiar story. Across its last six races, Goldfinder has finished fourth twice, fifth once, and second twice, with a tenth-place effort sandwiched in between. That second-place finish two runs ago is the most encouraging moment in recent memory, but it remains a near-miss rather than the breakthrough the horse and Patrick Chamings's yard have been chasing. Chamings, who trains from Baughurst in Hampshire, has had a solid season with nine winners sent out overall, but Goldfinder has not been among them. The horse raced just yesterday, so the yard are clearly still actively campaigning it, testing whether a change of race or ground might finally spark the win that has eluded it so far. At this age and with nine races behind it, time is starting to run short—win rates and placings tend to tell their own story, and Goldfinder's are not compelling ones.
