That's a remarkable conversion rate for any horse, let alone one regularly facing strong fields. Stretch the trip beyond that and the results thin out, which tells you something useful: this is a pure sprinter, built for pace and intensity rather than stamina.

The 2025 campaign has been particularly productive. Golden Mind won at Kempton in February on the all-weather track, followed it up at Newcastle on the all-weather in August, and then went to Doncaster in November and won another Class 2 on turf. Three wins in a calendar year at that level is genuinely good form. The yard — Richard and Peter Fahey operating out of Musley Bank — has been in fine shape this season, sending out 23 winners, and Golden Mind fits the profile of a horse the team knows exactly how to place.

Jockey Oisin Orr has been aboard for 10 of Golden Mind's 27 races, winning once together — 1 in every 10 rides — which is a modest return on paper, but context matters. These are competitive Class 2 fields, and the horse has still finished in the frame regularly. The last run, just one day ago, ended without a win, but Golden Mind is clearly still active and still being pointed at serious races.

The bottom line is this: a horse that has won four times, collected a place 10 more times, and done most of its best work at the highest accessible level is not a horse to overlook. Golden Mind might not win every time it turns up, but when the trip is right and the ground suits, it has shown it can beat good horses in good races.
