Adrian McGuinness trains out of Lusk in County Dublin, and his operation is running hot right now — 45 winners already this season is a serious tally that puts him among the busier and more productive yards in Irish racing. When a trainer is firing in winners at that rate, even their lesser-fancied runners are worth keeping an eye on. Go Kodi may have finished eighth on debut, but being sent out by a yard in this form suggests the team believe there is something worth developing here.
One run is genuinely not enough to judge a young horse. Some take time to figure out what is being asked of them, and a debut eighth can look very different in hindsight once they settle and improve. With Go Kodi only three years old and racing just yesterday, this is very much a story at its opening chapter.
