On normal ground at a distance of a mile and a furlong to a mile and two furlongs, Glyndwr has won 2 of 5 races, and on normal ground alone the record reads 3 wins from 4 attempts. Change the ground to something softer or firmer and the story changes with it.

Colin Keane has been in the saddle for the most important chapter of that story. Six races together have produced 2 wins — roughly 1 in every 3, which is a genuinely strong partnership at this level. Jockey-horse combinations that click at that kind of rate are worth paying attention to, because there is clearly a mutual understanding there that does not exist with every rider.

The recent form does require a note of honesty. After back-to-back wins — finishing first in two of its last six races — Glyndwr has since finished fifth, seventh, and eleventh.
