The recent form makes for difficult reading. In the last six races, Global Assembly has finished tenth once and sixth once, with the remaining four runs producing nothing to write home about at all. It raced just a day ago, so it is very much an active runner, but the trend is not pointing upward. At seven, most horses have found their level, and for Global Assembly that level appears to be one of honest, mid-pack participation rather than winning.
Aaron Anderson has partnered the horse five times — more than anyone else — and they are yet to win together, making it a partnership built more on familiarity than results. The yard, trained by D M Christie out of Derrylin in County Fermanagh, has managed just one winner this season across all its horses, so this is a small, modestly resourced operation rather than a powerhouse stable sending out winners week after week.
Global Assembly competes at Class 5, which is the lower tier of British racing — essentially the level where horses go when they need to find easier opportunities. Even there, it is yet to win, going zero from four at that grade. That is the part that stands out most sharply: this is not a horse being asked to punch above its weight against superior rivals. It is racing at the most accessible level available, and still the winning post has eluded it. Four places from eleven races tells you it belongs on a racecourse, but whether a first win ever comes remains the open question.
