Gladys Pugh

The horse runs for Kevin Ryan's Hambleton yard in North Yorkshire, a stable that has already sent out 45 winners this season and clearly knows how to train winners. For a two-year-old still early in her career, being part of a yard in that sort of form is a positive sign. Her recent runs show the expected ups and downs of a young horse learning the game—a second place, a fifth, a sixth, a twelfth, and the fifth last week—the kind of inconsistency that is normal at this stage rather than alarming. Without a win yet after five attempts, Gladys Pugh has not broken through, but she is still very much a work in progress, and with a trainer sending winners out regularly, she may yet surprise her the yard.
