What makes Girl Scout's recent form particularly striking is how she has found the winner's circle twice in her last four outings. She won at Haydock Park on September 4th, then came back to win again at the same track on September 25th — just this week. That is not luck; that is a horse that understands what it takes to get the job done, and understands Haydock in particular. Between those wins, she finished third and fifth, so she is neither invincible nor fragile. She runs hard, she wins often, and when she does not win, she is still in the conversation.

Girl Scout is trained by K. R. Burke from Coverham in North Yorkshire, a yard that has already sent out 145 winners this season — a measure of the quality and consistency of the operation. Burke clearly has this young horse aimed at the right races and the right conditions. At only two years old, with a winning record this strong and a clear liking for Haydock Park, Girl Scout looks like a prospect with genuine promise.
