Gilleangirl

Trained by Ivan Furtado at Wiseton in South Yorkshire, Gilleangirl races for a yard that has clearly found success elsewhere this season—43 winners sent out already speaks to Furtado's ability to get horses ready. But this particular runner remains a work in progress. The pattern in her last six races tells the story of a horse still learning: three seventh-place finishes, a fourth, an eleventh, and that most recent seventh. Nothing dramatic or disastrous, but nothing to build on either. At three years old, she still has time, and the fact that she was back in action just yesterday suggests the team hasn't given up on finding her feet. Whether she'll turn it around remains to be seen, but right now Gilleangirl is a maiden in search of her first taste of victory.
