The recent form does at least tell a story of improvement. After finishing 11th and 16th in its earlier races, Getone has come home 6th, 3rd, 4th, and 8th in its last four, including a run just yesterday. That 3rd place is the closest it has come to a win, and the general trend upward is worth noting — horses do not always improve in a straight line, and the fact that Getone is racing regularly and finishing closer to the front suggests it may be finding its feet.
The horse is trained by Daisy Hitchins, who operates out of Sherborne in Dorset. Her yard has sent out 14 winners already this season, which tells you this is not an outfit that lacks for ability — they know how to get a horse to the winner's enclosure. That Getone has not yet managed it is more a reflection of the horse's own journey than any lack of horsemanship behind the scenes. Whether Hitchins can find the right race to unlock that first win remains the key question, but with a yard in decent form around it, Getone is at least in capable hands.
