Getarose

The recent form figures of 3-4-4-8-6-11 tell an interesting story. Strip away the two difficult days where she finished sixth and eleventh, and there's a horse who keeps finding her way into the frame. Third and two fourth-place finishes suggest she's competitive enough, just not quite able to land the decisive blow when it counts.

Jockey Conor Ring has partnered her in seven of those eight races — a clear sign that the team at Llancarfan believe in the combination — but that partnership is still waiting for its breakthrough moment together. Trainer Mrs C Williams, whose yard in the Vale of Glamorgan has produced two winners so far this season, will be hoping Getarose can add to that tally soon. She typically runs in Class 5 races, which is the level where horses of her ability compete most regularly, and she hasn't yet won in four attempts at that grade.

With a race just yesterday, Getarose is very much an active project. Sometimes horses take time to find their moment, and two places from eight races at least shows she belongs in the races she's entering. The next start could be the one.
