Ascot and Goodwood are two of the most prestigious venues in the country, so winning at both is the kind of thing that separates a useful horse from a genuinely good one. Add a Class 2 win at Wolverhampton on the artificial surface in 2023, and you have a horse who can deliver on big days at big tracks. His Windsor record is quietly outstanding too — two wins from just four visits, which is exactly the sort of course affinity that smart punters notice.

The conditions stat is perhaps the most useful thing to know about Get It. On fast, dry ground, he has won 5 of his 9 races — that's more than half. Switch to wetter conditions and he's a different proposition entirely. When the sun has been out, this horse becomes a serious contender; when it hasn't, manage your expectations accordingly.

His most trusted partner is Pat Cosgrave, who has ridden him in 11 of his 23 races and won 4 of them — a win rate of roughly 1 in 3. That combination clearly works, and when the two are reunited, it's worth paying attention. Trainer George Baker, based at Epsom Downs, has sent out 14 winners this season already, suggesting the yard is in good form heading into Get It's return.

That return is the key question. Get It hasn't raced for around eight months, which is a significant absence, and his last two runs before that break were a 14th and a 6th — not his sharpest form. But his two wins before those came back-to-back, and Baker noted early in Get It's career that a gelding operation helped settle a horse who was quick but not always straightforward. The speed was always there. The question now is whether eight months off has left him fresh and ready, or whether he'll need a run to find his feet again.
