Those are not the numbers of a horse in good shape. There are five places on the record across eighteen races, which suggests occasional moments of competence, but nothing close to consistent form. Two months have passed since the Downpatrick win, and the horse has managed nothing better than fourth in the five races since. That is a worrying drought for a horse operating at this level, where every run should be a chance to prove itself.

Paul John Gilligan trains from Athenry in County Galway, and the yard has saddled five winners already this season — a solid return that suggests decent judgment. Whether Gilligan can spark a recovery for Georginas Jet remains to be seen. The horse is clearly active and still being raced, but the trajectory since that June victory points in only one direction: downward form, and no obvious reason to think the next outing will be any different.
