Jim Goldie trains Geo from his yard in Uplawmoor, Lanarkshire, and the operation has been in fine form this season — 88 winners sent out, which is the kind of output that suggests a trainer who knows exactly what he is doing with each horse in his care. Goldie is openly enthusiastic about where Geo is heading. He has spoken about how she ran a really nice race at Newbury when finishing fifth behind American State, ridden by William Buick, and he believes she is getting herself ready to win again soon. One small puzzle in Geo's record is her partnership with regular jockey Charles Bishop, who has ridden her six times without a win.
