Genoah

The numbers suggest Genoah performs best when conditions suit it. On normal ground — neither too wet nor too dry — it wins roughly one in every 2.25 races, a much healthier win rate than its career average of one in roughly 4.5 races. Distance matters too. At the longer end, between a mile and six furlongs and two miles, it has won one of three races, suggesting stamina suits it better than shorter trips. Trainer M D O'Callaghan, based at The Curragh, is working with a horse that has decent tools but clearly needs the right set of circumstances. When Genoah runs with jockey Colin Keane, it wins roughly one in every 3.5 races — noticeably better than its overall form — hinting that partnership may be worth watching if they team up again.

The horse raced just a day ago and remains in active work, so the trainer will be hunting for the right race to spark another winning run. Dundalk remains the obvious hunting ground, and softer ground closer to normal conditions rather than anything bone-hard would seem to play to its strengths.
