General Wolfe made his racecourse debut just a day ago, finishing well down the field in what would have been a stiff test for any two-year-old stepping onto a track for the first time. The horse is trained by
Ed Walker at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, a yard that has already saddled 76 winners this season and clearly knows how to get the best out of its young runners. At this early stage, there is little to judge beyond the bare fact of that single outing, but Walker's track record suggests General Wolfe will have more opportunities to prove what he can do. Two-year-olds often improve sharply between their first and second races as they gain experience and settle into racing.
