Jardine is worth paying attention to here. His operation has sent out 57 winners already this season, which marks him as one of the more productive trainers in the north, and he clearly knows how to place a horse to give it every chance. Gemini Man typically competes at Class 6 level — the entry-level tier of British racing — where he has won 2 from 9, a rate of about 1 in 4.5. That's a trainer who understands exactly where this horse belongs and isn't overly ambitious with him, which is exactly how you keep a veteran horse winning races.

The conditions matter too. On normal ground, Gemini Man wins roughly 1 in 5 or 6 races depending on which distance bracket you look at, which is well above his overall average and tells you he much prefers life when the track isn't waterlogged. His best trips sit between a mile and a mile and two furlongs — not a sprint, not a true stayer, just a horse who finds his rhythm over a middle distance and gets competitive. Danny McMenamin has partnered him seven times for one win together, a relationship that's still finding its feet, but the horse's current form suggests the partnership could click at any moment.

Back in September 2025, trainer Iain Jardine hinted that Gemini Man might actually be a better proposition over hurdles than on the flat, noting he'd won at Hexham the previous month and had come out of the race in great shape despite a penalty. Whether that route was pursued or not, the horse is now winning flat races too. For a straightforward Class 6 performer entering his eighth year, the fact that he raced just yesterday and is still picking up wins is genuinely impressive. Some horses at this stage are running on fumes — Gemini Man still looks like he has a few chapters left.
