Galba

Two races in, Galba has yet to win but did manage a third-place finish in the most recent outing, racing just one day ago. That placed run follows a seventh-place debut, so the improvement from one race to the next is real and visible — from the back of the field to the fringes of the podium in a single step. That kind of progression in a young horse is exactly what trainers look for.

At this stage, two races is barely an introduction. Many horses are still finding their feet at this point, and the Hannon yard — one of the busiest and most successful operations in the country — clearly has plenty of belief in this one to keep running it actively. Whether Galba can turn a place into a win is the obvious next question, and with a team producing winners at this rate, you wouldn't bet against them figuring it out.
