The question is when Freddie's Back decides to join the party.

The recent form tells an interesting story. A ninth-place finish is in there, which is the kind of run you'd rather forget, but so is a third — a placed effort that shows there's something worth working with. The most recent four races read 7-3-4-9 going back in time, meaning the horse has actually been running better of late, finishing third and then fourth in its two most recent outings before that seventh yesterday. Racing just one day ago, Freddie's Back is as current as it gets — this is a horse actively out there competing, not one gathering dust between runs.

No wins from four races is a modest record, but four races is still a small sample. Plenty of horses take time to click, and with a capable trainer behind it and some encouraging placed form starting to emerge, there's at least a reason to keep watching.
