What works in Fozzie's favour is the company being kept. Kevin Ryan's yard has sent out 45 winners already this season, which means this is a team that clearly knows how to get horses ready to win. Being trained by someone operating at that level matters — Fozzie is in capable hands, and horses from busy, successful yards often find their feet with time and experience. Having raced just yesterday, Fozzie is very much an active, current project rather than a work in progress gathering dust.
Three races is a small sample. Some horses take four or five outings just to figure out what racing is actually about, and a place from three runs at least shows Fozzie can mix it competitively on a good day. The question now is whether that second place was a sign of things to come, or whether the two sevenths are the truer picture. With a yard firing on all cylinders behind the scenes, it would be no surprise to see the answer arrive soon.
