Four Decades

The recent form is unencouraging. In the last six races, Four Decades has finished 6th, 8th, 8th, 4th, 6th, and 8th, most recently just a day ago. That fourth-place finish is the closest to success the horse has come, but it's a narrow bright spot in an otherwise bleak record. At Class 4 level — a mid-tier rung of racing — Four Decades has managed nothing from three attempts, which suggests the horse is running at a level where it simply cannot compete. The question now is whether a drop in class or a change of approach might unlock something, or whether this horse is simply not cut out for racing at any serious level. Either way, with no wins in nine tries and another race likely on the horizon soon, time is running short to prove there is a point to continuing.
