The horse made its debut at Kempton Park on 5 August 2026 and won immediately. From there, Fortitudine has not looked back, stringing together three consecutive victories and establishing itself as a prospect worth watching. In racing, an unbeaten record at this stage is rare enough to turn heads. Most horses, even good ones, find a race they cannot win or a day when everything goes wrong. Fortitudine has yet to experience that.
The horse is trained by Charlie Appleby at Newmarket, a yard that has already sent out 121 winners this season alone. Appleby knows how to bring young horses along, and the fact that Fortitudine is thriving in his care suggests the training programme is working. At three years old, the horse is still developing, which raises an obvious question: how much better might it yet become? For now, though, the record speaks for itself — perfect, and still growing.
