At just two years old, she has barely started her story. That single outing ended with a placing rather than a win, which is no disgrace — plenty of horses take a run or two to find their feet. What matters more is who has her. John and Thady Gosden are one of the most powerful training partnerships in British racing, operating out of Newmarket in Suffolk, and their yard has already sent out 136 winners this season alone. That is a remarkable number — it speaks to an operation that knows exactly what it is doing and has the horses to match. When a stable of that calibre takes their time with a young horse, bringing it back after a six-month break, it usually means they believe there is something worth being patient with.
Forever True has not won yet, but the resume is thin by design rather than by disappointment. Watch for her return.
