Her recent form has been patchy. She ran fourth most recently, then fourth again the race before, which represents a dip after winning that March race at Newcastle. She did finish second in the middle of that stretch—a result her trainer Oliver Greenall noted suggested she was "starting to get the hang of it" and was "set to take a bit of beating next time." That optimism has not quite translated into another win yet, though she remains active on the track, having raced just days ago. Trained by Greenall and Josh Guerriero at Oldcastle in Cheshire, she is part of a yard that sent out 43 winners this season, a sign the stable knows how to get the best from its horses even if this particular one has been slow to sparkle.

Seven months between wins at the same course is a considerable gap for any horse, and Forcetoreckonwith's journey suggests she may simply be a steady, mid-field competitor rather than a prospect destined for bigger things. But horses do improve with age and experience, and at seven she is still finding her feet. Her trainer's faith in her ability to build on that Catterick run hints that there may be more to come if she can string another win together.
