What counts in its favour is the yard behind it. Emma Lavelle's operation at Ogbourne Maizey in Wiltshire has sent out 44 winners already this season, which speaks to a team that knows how to get horses ready to perform. Having a horse that hasn't fired yet sitting in a stable full of winners can actually be a good sign — the support and expertise are clearly there, and Lavelle's record shows she can place horses to win. The question is whether she can find the right opportunity for this one to finally break its duck. The horse raced just one day ago, so it is very much in active campaign mode, being kept busy and given chances.

At three, Footstepinthewoods is still a young horse finding its feet. Some take longer than others to work out what racing is actually about, and six races is not a huge sample. The priority now will be finding a race where the conditions suit and the competition gives it a genuine chance — because zero from six is a record that needs changing sooner rather than later.
