That win came at Windsor on 20 July 2026, and while it remains the horse's only success, it shows Footstepinthewoods can reach the required standard when conditions align. Trainer Emma Lavelle, whose Ogbourne Maizey yard in Wiltshire has sent out 44 winners already this season, will be building races around those distances where the evidence points to a better chance.

The recent form is mixed. A fifth-place finish one race ago was followed by a second — a placing — which at least showed the horse hasn't given up. Before that came a sixth, then another fifth, an eleventh and a twenty-second. It is a form line that suggests Footstepinthewoods has had some tough days at the races lately, but also moments of promise. The horse raced just a day ago, so it is active and regularly in competition, which at least keeps it sharp. At three years old, there is still time for improvement, and Lavelle's yard record this season indicates the trainer knows how to deliver winners. The next opportunity to prove distance and track suit will come soon enough.
