Florizelle

Edward Smyth-Osbourne, who trains Florizelle at Upper Lambourn, has had a decent season with eight winners already from his yard, so there is no shortage of form in the stable. For a horse that is still learning the job at three years old, running fifths and sixths is not a disaster, but Florizelle will need to find a touch more to break into the frame. The gap between consistency and results can be frustratingly narrow in racing, and right now that is exactly where this horse sits — doing enough to stay in the race but not quite enough to trouble the judge. With recent form still active and a willing trainer, there is time yet for things to click.
