Florida Bay's breakthrough came at Fairyhouse in early June, and it has won 2 of its last 5 races, including a victory at Leopardstown on 23 July that was four weeks in the past at time of writing. That means the horse is still racing regularly and improving, not being rested between outings.

The telling detail is that it has never finished outside the first three across five races. At two years old, that kind of consistency is a calling card. Some horses are brilliant one day and invisible the next; Florida Bay keeps turning up and running respectably, which is how you build a reputation and attract better opportunities.
