Her yard, J S Moore at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, has sent out 17 winners this season and clearly knows what it is doing with her. She first broke her duck at Windsor on 22 July 2024, and that proved no flash in the pan. She has now won twice at Windsor from six races there, making it her course. Her most recent win came at Salisbury just four weeks ago, a month that saw her come close twice more — a second place and a third — which suggests she is in better form now than the raw result line might indicate. In her last six races, she has finished out of the placings only once.
The puzzle is her partnership with Taylor Fisher, her most frequent jockey at six rides together. They have not won a race yet, and Fisher's presence on her back appears to be linked to her poorer performances. Strip out those rides and a different horse emerges. With other jockeys, particularly Billy Loughnane after her Windsor win, she shows genuine polish. Loughnane observed that she was tough and still learning, and that six furlongs was probably her minimum distance — hints that she may yet develop into something better. For now, though, Fleetwater is a specialist: fast ground, familiar tracks, the right jockey in the saddle. Hit all three notes and she delivers.
