Trained by J. S. Moore at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, Fleetwater seems to have found her place in the yard's plans. Moore, whose stable has sent out 17 winners this season, understands what the horse needs. When she won at Windsor in July 2024, jockey Billy Loughnane noted that she was "tough towards the line" and still had room to improve as she rose through the grades, suggesting the trainer has been patient with her development. At the same time, recent form has been mixed. Over her last six races, she has delivered just one win — that three-month-old victory at Salisbury — with a string of 13th, 13th, 7th, 8th, and 9th place finishes before it. The pattern suggests that when the ground is not in her favour, or when she steps up in class, Fleetwater struggles to compete.
Taylor Fisher has ridden her six times without a win, which hints that Fleetwater may perform better with different jockeys or that Fisher's partnership with the horse has yet to click. Still, she was racing just a day ago and remains active, so there is every chance she will see the track again soon — ideally when the rain has stopped and the ground firms up.
