Flashy Boy

His regular partner in the saddle is amateur rider Mr Ben Sutton, but the pair haven't quite cracked it together either, drawing a blank across all five of their races as a combination. At the level Flashy Boy typically competes at — Class 4, which sits in the mid-to-lower tier of British racing — he has run four times without winning. That's not necessarily a sign he's in the wrong company; it may simply mean the right day hasn't come yet.

He comes into his next race after a 72-day break, which gives trainer Robbie Llewellyn time to have freshened him up. Llewellyn's yard in Wroughton, Wiltshire has been in decent form this season, sending out 13 winners, so there's clearly ability in the team to get horses ready to run well. Whether Flashy Boy can finally convert one of these outings into a win remains the question — but at nine years old, time is no longer entirely on his side.
