Final Orders

The most recent of them came just three weeks ago at Cheltenham on 11 March 2026 — one of the most famous racecourses in the world. That followed a Class 2 win at the same track back in December. Cheltenham rewards horses with class and toughness, so landing two wins there in the space of three months is not something you see from ordinary animals. For context, Final Orders has competed in four of the very top races in Britain and Ireland and has yet to win one — but its record at the level just below that is exactly what you want to see.

The partnership with jockey Keith Donoghue is worth noting. Together they have won 8 of their 22 races — that is more than 1 in every 3 rides ending in victory, a remarkable hit rate that suggests the horse genuinely responds to him. When the yard find a jockey that clicks with a horse, you tend to stick with it, and that consistency has clearly paid off here.

Final Orders also has a particular love for Bellewstown, a small, sharp track on the east coast of Ireland. Three wins from just four visits there is the kind of dominance that makes trainers circle the fixture list in red pen every year. The horse also thrives on wet, muddy ground — winning 3 from 8 races in those conditions, or roughly 1 in every 3 — which is useful given how often that describes Irish winters.

Cromwell's yard is in superb form this season, having sent out 94 winners, so Final Orders is part of a genuinely strong operation rather than a yard making up the numbers. With recent form reading 1-5-1-3-6-10 and still active, this is a horse at its best right now — old enough to know its job, and still getting it done.
