Beyond that range, though, results have dried up, suggesting the trainer J A Stack may have found the sweet spot for this one. Stack's yard, based at Golden in Tipperary, has sent out 12 winners this season, so there is experience in the background. The Curragh clearly suits the horse too; that debut victory there four weeks ago showed it could get the job done on a track it evidently understands. With only six races under its belt, Exchange Student is still a young prospect with room to improve, and if the yard can keep it in the right races at the right distances, there could be more winning days ahead.
