Everyonesgame

Trained by Andy Irvine at his yard in Ashurstwood, East Sussex, Everyonesgame took a while to deliver on his early promise. His first win came at Doncaster in January 2022, and he was considered a bright prospect at the time, but things stalled. A breathing problem was identified, and the decision was made to operate. Wind surgery can be transformative for racehorses, and in Everyonesgame's case it appears to have been exactly that. After the procedure, he ran at Hereford on ground that was slightly softer than ideal for him, and won. "It's amazing what a wind operation can do," said his trainer afterwards. The horse was back.

That breathing fix has given his career a second chapter. He reached one of the top races in Britain when winning a Class 2 at Worcester in June 2023, which represents the highest level of his career and suggests there is genuine quality here when conditions are right. He is best when the ground is fast and dry — on soft or wet ground his record drops sharply — and the team have been open about pointing him at summer racing to take advantage of that. At his most common level, Class 4, he has won 3 of 9 races, a rate of 33%, which is strong and marks him out as a reliable performer at that grade.

His most consistent partnership is with jockey Lilly Pinchin, who has ridden him to 3 wins from just 6 races together — that is a remarkable 50% success rate, and suggests the pair bring out the best in each other. His most recent win came at Kempton Park in November 2025, and with Irvine's yard having sent out four winners already this season, the operation in good form. Everyonesgame raced just yesterday, keeping his record active and confirming he remains a willing participant. At nine, with breathing issues now addressed and a trainer who clearly believes in him, he looks like a horse still with something left to give.
