What we do know is that Eupator is very much a Wolverhampton horse. Both of his career wins have come at that track, from just five visits — winning 2 from 5 there is a 40% record, which in racing terms is bordering on a love affair. He struck first on 23 January 2026 and returned to win again just three days later on 26 January, the trainer turning him around quickly after a run at Lingfield and being rewarded handsomely. That second win came by five lengths, enough that Hannon cheerfully noted the handicapper would punish him — "he'll go up more than that for winning by five" — which is the kind of problem you are happy to have.

The team believes a mile and a quarter is where Eupator is at his best, and the numbers back that up. Over that sort of trip — between a mile and one furlong and a mile and two — he has won 2 from 7 races (29%), comfortably his best figures at any distance. On normal ground he is equally reliable, going 2 from 10 (20%), and he competes most often at Class 5 level, where his 25% win rate — 2 from 8 — shows he belongs at that grade and can win it.

His most trusted partner is Sean Levey, who has ridden him in 8 of his 18 races and won twice, a 25% win rate that is the best of any jockey who has partnered him. Behind all of this sits the considerable resource of Hannon's Wiltshire yard, which has sent out 118 winners this season alone — one of the most productive operations in the country. Eupator raced just yesterday and is clearly being kept busy, with recent form reading a second, fourth, and ninth from his last three completed runs. The win four months ago is starting to feel like a while ago, but everything about how Hannon talks about this horse suggests he expects the Wolverhampton magic to surface again before long.
