Whatever clicked in those weeks, it clicked hard, and that kind of momentum in a young horse is genuinely exciting to watch.

On normal ground, Enter Sandman is a different animal. Its two wins have both come on standard conditions, and across eight races on that surface it has converted at 25% — winning 1 in every 4. That is a striking number, and it tells you that when the ground is right, this horse is competitive at a meaningful level.

The partnership with jockey George Wood is worth keeping an eye on. Together they have won 2 of their 6 races — that is 1 in every 3, a win rate that any jockey-horse pairing would be quietly pleased with. It suggests there is a genuine understanding building between the two, and that matters for a 3-year-old still learning its trade.

Behind it all is trainer Richard Spencer, operating out of Newmarket — the heartland of British flat racing. Spencer's yard has sent out 30 winners already this season, which is the kind of output that signals a stable in confident, organised form. A horse coming through that environment, with those numbers behind it, and a back-to-back winning streak to its name just seven weeks ago, is one to keep on your radar. Enter Sandman is three years old, still developing, and currently active. The next chapter could be very interesting indeed.
