The most recent form figures — 9, 10, 1, 5, 4, 4, reading from latest to earliest — tell an honest story. After that career-best win, Enricher has finished ninth and tenth in the two races since, which suggests the horse may still be finding its level rather than kicking on from that breakthrough. Still, at three years old there is plenty of time for the picture to become clearer.

Lewis Edmunds has been the regular partner, riding in five of the six races and picking up that one win together, a rate of 1 in every 5 rides. The yard is William Muir and Chris Grassick, based at Lambourn in Berkshire, a training centre packed with serious operations. They have been in decent form this season, sending out 20 winners, so Enricher sits in capable hands even if the horse has not yet fully repaid their patience. With a race just yesterday, this is very much an active campaign — the next run will tell us whether Wolverhampton was the turning point or simply a good day.
