Win rate and top-3 rate will show once this horse has raced.
Nicholls' yard has had a solid season so far, with 8 winners sent out. That kind of win rate suggests a trainer who knows how to prepare horses properly and pick their races carefully. For a debut runner, that's encouraging; it means the trainer has likely thought hard about where and when to pitch Elan Valley, rather than simply running a horse that isn't quite ready. There's nothing in the record to build on yet, but the fact that this two-year-old is being entered now, under a trainer with recent form, suggests the horse has shown enough at home to warrant a racecourse outing. Beyond that, it's genuinely all to play for.
