That single win came at Ripon on 18 June 2025, and it remains the high point of the profile so far. Ripon is a tight, turning track in North Yorkshire that suits certain horses very well, and clearly Duskaura found conditions to its liking that day. The frustrating part, for anyone following it, is that the win now sits ten months in the rear-view mirror with nothing added since — six races without a victory, including finishes of eighth and sixth in the most recent outings. The form line reads 6-–-4-–-8-5, which tells a story of a horse that has found things tough when stepped up in class.

That step up is worth dwelling on. Duskaura has been tried three times at Class 4 level — one rung below the top half of the racing ladder — and has drawn a blank in all three, unable to reproduce the form that brought that Ripon success. It suggests the horse may be operating right at the ceiling of its current ability at that level, and the yard may need to think carefully about where they pitch it next.

The yard behind the horse is Tony Carroll, based in Cropthorne in Worcestershire, and it's a team that clearly knows how to get horses winning — 132 winners in a single season is a serious number, roughly one winner every three days on average. Carroll is an experienced, no-nonsense trainer who tends to place his horses shrewdly, so the fact that Duskaura has been tried and found wanting at Class 4 isn't a failure of management so much as an honest assessment of where the horse is right now.

Duskaura raced just yesterday, which means this is a horse very much in active training and in the mix. Whether a return to easier conditions or a drop in class unlocks another win remains to be seen, but at three years old, there's still time for the profile to develop.
