Due Destiny

At three years old, time is still on this horse's side. Many horses at this age are still figuring things out, and a first win can sometimes arrive when you least expect it. But five races without a result does put a degree of pressure on the next outing, and with Due Destiny having raced just yesterday, the yard — sorry, the team — will already be thinking carefully about where to go next.

The trainer, Patrick Owens, operates out of Newmarket in Suffolk, one of the heartlands of British racing, and his yard has sent out three winners so far this season. That's a modest return, so a breakthrough from Due Destiny would be a meaningful moment for the whole operation. For now, though, this is a horse still searching for the right opportunity to show what it can do.
