Draiocht

Recent form tells a mixed story. In his last six races, Draiocht has placed twice (finishing third and fourth) but has struggled to get closer than that, with results of eleventh, ninth, and eighth mixed in among the placings. He raced just yesterday, so he remains an active runner for T J O'Mara's yard, which has been modest in its output this season with only two winners sent out overall. The trainer's limited firepower may explain why Draiocht hasn't been pushed hard through the grades since his October success.

Where Draiocht shows a glimmer of something is when paired with jockey Killian Leonard, who has ridden him five times and won once with him—a 20% win rate that stands out sharply against the horse's career average. That suggests Leonard gets the best out of him, at least occasionally. The horse also performs slightly better over middle distances between one mile one furlong and one mile two furlongs, winning one of ten races at that trip, but even there the form is inconsistent. At this stage of his career, Draiocht looks like a horse capable of the odd win but unlikely to progress beyond staying competitive in lower-grade races.
