Trained by Adrian McGuinness out of Lusk in County Dublin, Doctor Grace operates within a yard that has been in excellent form, sending out 39 winners already this season. That kind of momentum from a trainer matters — horses tend to run their best when everything around them is working well. McGuinness clearly knows what he has here, because Doctor Grace keeps getting its chance.

The partnership with jockey Sam Coen is the most established of the horse's career — 14 races together — though they've only converted once, a win rate of around 1 in 14. That's modest, but 14 rides with the same jockey tells you the team believes in the combination. First past the post together at Dundalk back in February 2023, they have been figuring it out ever since.

Where Doctor Grace shows genuine reliability is on normal ground — not too wet, not too firm, just standard conditions. At 57 races in, Doctor Grace is an experienced, battle-hardened competitor who has found a level and is performing consistently within it. Not every horse needs to win a big race to be worth following — sometimes the most interesting story is a horse that simply keeps turning up, keeps running well, and lands a winner when it counts.
