The recent form makes for difficult reading. Looking at the last six runs, Divelment has managed a pair of third-place finishes but has otherwise struggled to get into the picture, and there has been no win across any of those six outings. Racing just one day ago, the horse is clearly active and being kept busy, which at least shows the team believe there is a race to be won somewhere.
Regular jockey James Ryan has been in the saddle for eight of those ten career starts, and the pair have yet to get their heads in front together. That kind of partnership without a win can sometimes reflect a horse still developing and finding its feet, though it also means Ryan knows this horse well — and will be very aware of what it takes to get the best from it.
Trainer Jack W Davison operates out of Dunboyne in County Meath, and the yard has sent out eight winners already this season, which shows the operation is more than capable of getting horses to the track in winning condition. The fact that Divelment hasn't joined that list yet is something the team will clearly be working to change. For now, it remains one of those horses you watch with a mixture of patience and curiosity — the pieces are there for a first win, and when it comes, it will have been a long time coming.
