Dinamine

Those two wins have both come at distances between seven furlongs and a mile, and that detail matters. Across 10 races at that range, Dinamine has won 2 of them — a 20% win rate, or 1 in every 5. That is a completely different animal to the overall record. It suggests a horse that has spent a lot of its career being asked to do things it is not naturally suited to, and that when the conditions line up correctly, it can genuinely get the job done.

The wins themselves are spread across a pleasing arc of 2025. The first came at Gowran Park in April, ending what had been a long wait. The second arrived at Bellewstown in August, which is a lovely little summer track on the east coast of Ireland with a very particular atmosphere. Winning there is not nothing. Michael Mulvany, the trainer based in Kells in County Meath, has had a productive season — 19 winners from the yard this season — and Dinamine has contributed two of those moments.

What is harder to explain is the partnership with jockey Siobhan Rutledge. Eight races together and no wins between them. That is not necessarily a criticism of either — plenty of factors go into race results — but it is a notable blank in an otherwise improving story. The recent form is encouraging though: a win and two thirds from the last six runs points to a horse that is racing well and holding its form, which at eight years old is genuinely worth something. It raced just one day ago, so it is very much in the thick of things right now.

Dinamine will never be a star. But a horse that finds its best at seven furlongs to a mile, trains with a yard in form, and is clearly enjoying a good spell of racing in the second half of its career? That is worth keeping an eye on.
